I’ve never met anyone untouched by cancer. Whether it is a parent, a sibling, a friend or co-worker - we’ve all witnessed that battle and the strength and resilience it brings out in people.
We’re celebrating survivors, but of course our hope is that not only do they survive, but that they thrive on the other side of the treatments and the heartache that comes with the battle.
One way our community helps is through these clinics and agencies that help alleviate the overwhelming costs associated with the healthcare and treatments required by this disease. We’ve seen firsthand what a difference this can make in the lives of those affected.
Cancer is a jerk. There’s no way around it. But the way that families and entire communities rally around people fighting through it can be a transformative experience. Everyone who is touched by it reaches the other side with a new appreciation for the things we get to experience in this life.
I designed this chair in honor of my Aunt and Grandmother, both who are now in remission. They contributed to my love of sewing growing up by teaching me how to wield a needle and thread, and even conquer my first sewing machines.
Butterflies are a symbol of transformation and we know that these survivors have truly been transformed by their own strength and hopefully by the love of their communities as well.
