Kinusaiga Art Instructions

  1.  Tape your paper design to the side of your project block that has the 3M adhesive paper on all 4 sides.

  2. Use your exacto blade to trace over the lines of your design. You don’t want to cut all the way through your block, but rather about 1/4' deep so you can tuck your fabric edges down into the block.

  3. You can gather your paper pieces if you want to use them as a template to cut your paper (with an eighth inch of allowance around the edge). OR you can do as I do in the video and trim the fabric after it’s on the block.

  4. Once you’ve traced the image, start from the center and work your way out. using the tip of your seam ripper to help you pull the adhesive backing off the individual shapes.

  5. Place the fabric over the exposed adhesive, and use the flat side of your seam ripper to press the edges of your fabric into the block.

  6. Continue working your way to the edges. Once you’ve reached the edge you want to cut your pieces long enought to wrap around the edge to the back.

  7. You can use your exacto blade to slice the edges from front to back and then create a channel around the outside edge to tuck your edges into.

  8. OR you can use hot glue to hold your fabric down around the edge then wrap the block with a piece of ribbon to finish it off.
